Many patients are left wondering what’s normal\, what’s not\, and how to safely return to feeling like themselves again. \nThis event was designed to change that. \nJoin us for an expert-led discussion focused on helping you better understand the surgical process\, support your body through recovery\, and take an active role in your healing. \nDuring this session\, we’ll cover: \n\nHow to prepare your body for laparoscopic surgery\nWhat to expect during the recovery process (and what’s not normal)\nThe role of scar tissue and adhesions in ongoing pain and dysfunction\nHow to safely return to movement and exercise\nStrategies to support healing\, reduce pain\, and improve function\n\n\nPanelists\nMegan Burns\, MD \nDr. Megan Burns is a board-certified OB/GYN specializing in advanced laparoscopic and robotic-assisted gynecologic surgery\, with a particular focus on complex endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain. She completed her medical training at The Ohio State University College of Medicine\, followed by residency at Good Samaritan Hospital\, where she received certification in DaVinci robot-assisted surgery. \nDr. Burns pursued advanced fellowship training in gynecologic laparoscopy through the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons under the mentorship of Camran Nezhat\, a leader in minimally invasive surgery for endometriosis. She now serves on faculty at the University of Rochester within the Division of Urogynecology and practices in the Center for Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Pelvic Pain. \nHer clinical interests include advanced endometriosis\, pelvic adhesive disease\, uterine fibroids\, and complex pelvic pain. She is highly skilled in excisional surgery for multi-organ endometriosis and is dedicated to providing comprehensive\, patient-centered surgical care. \nNatalia Farnsworth\, DPT \nDr. Natalia Farnsworth is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with over a decade of experience and a specialized focus in pelvic health. She earned her doctorate from Upstate Medical University and has practiced in diverse settings\, including Tucson and New York City\, before establishing her own practice. \nDr. Natalia is dedicated to advancing women’s healthcare through individualized pelvic floor physical therapy\, offering both in-person and virtual care. Her work centers on helping patients address pelvic pain\, dysfunction\, and post-surgical recovery with a highly personalized\, evidence-informed approach. \nShe is passionate about expanding access to high-quality pelvic health services and continues to advocate for the growth and evolution of the field. \nRachel Stummer\, DC\, MSACN \nDr. Rachel Stummer is a chiropractor and clinical nutritionist at Pinnacle Hill Chiropractic\, specializing in women’s health\, including prenatal\, postpartum\, and hormone-related conditions. She holds a Doctorate in Chiropractic and a Master of Science in Applied Clinical Nutrition from Northeast College of Health Sciences. \nDr. Rachel integrates chiropractic care\, rehabilitation\, and nutrition to help patients better understand their bodies and improve overall function.
