We’ve previous discussed the importance of STRENGTH with regard to running. Next up in this three part series discussion is BALANCE.
Balance components include what you feel through your feet, your vestibular system and your visual system. During your stride you are going to spend some time on one leg (obviously), so being able to stabilize your pelvis while on one leg is going to be critical. Poor balance while running can lead to compensations in running form, require more effort, and even cause more impact and force to be transferred to the pelvic floor.
