Dr. Rachel Stummer uses nutrition to reduce symptoms of hormone imbalances, inflammatory conditions, GI complaints, and elevated blood glucose levels in Rochester NY.
Her nutrition practice is focused on helping her patients find a healthy and happy lifetime relationship with food and utilizing whole food to reduce symptoms of hormone imbalances, inflammatory conditions, GI complaints, and elevated blood glucose levels. She enjoys cooking and loves sharing her favorite healthy eating tips and recipes with her patients. All nutrition appointments are virtual, so she is able to help patients remotely.
Advanced Training:
Dr. Rachel Stummer was born and raised in Pittsford, NY. She attended Ithaca College with hopes of joining the women’s soccer team, but after knee surgery ended her soccer career, she became interested in conservative, compassionate healthcare. During undergrad, she became an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and continued to train faculty and staff until she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise with a Medical Sciences Emphasis.
Dr. Rachel continued down the path of conservative care at New York Chiropractic College where she graduated with honors and followed up with her Masters of Science in Science in Applied Clinical Nutrition. In her free time, Dr. Rachel enjoys being outdoors, hiking and camping around the Southern Tier, Finger Lakes, and Adirondacks with her boyfriend and friends.
During the gap between undergrad and graduate school, Dr. Rachel worked at Breathe Yoga where she fell in love with yoga as a means of exercise for her body and mental health and rehabilitation from injuries. She is working through a Yoga Alliance certified 200-hour yoga teacher training and is excited to integrate her learning into her treatment. In her chiropractic practice. She helps patients from all walks of life and has enjoyed focusing on pregnant patients while working towards her Webster Technique certification. She even has aspirations of becoming a DONA Certified Doula!
Dr. Rachel’s love of chiropractic care, gentle nutrition, and yoga practice have led her to a career helping others and seeing each patient as a whole and unique person. She sees that when we care for ourselves through the foods we eat, the thoughts we think, the ways we move, and the ways in which we rest, we will truly live well and with compassion.
