Specializing in treating TMJ pain in Rochester NY
(He/Him/His)
Dr. James is a chiropractor based in Rochester, NY, with a passion for helping performing artists, adolescent athletes, individuals suffering from TMJ dysfunction, and the general public. His goal is to help his patients return to pain-free activities quickly and efficiently.
Dr. James first experienced chiropractic care while recovering from a dance-related injury. After his chiropractor helped him return to the stage, he was inspired to pursue the chiropractic profession following the conclusion of his dance career.
Dr. James attended The University at Buffalo where he graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Dance. He is also trained in stage combat and dance and stunt choreography. Throughout his professional dance career he performed both nationally and internationally. He then attended New York Chiropractic College, now Northeast College of Health Sciences and joined Pinnacle Hill Chiropractic shortly after in 2019. Dr. James also has his Sports Science and Human Performance certification and Activator Methods certification.
Dr. James is deeply committed to enhancing the lives of his patients and the community. With an evidence-informed approach and a rich background in dance and stunt choreography, he has the tools to assist dancers and gymnasts of all ages, as well as anyone experiencing hip, knee, ankle, or foot issues. His personal experience with TMJ dysfunction has fueled his passion for treating others who suffer from the same condition.
Advanced Training:
When not working at Pinnacle Hill Chiropractic, Dr. James actively participates in state and national chiropractic associations. He serves on the Professional Development Committee for the American Chiropractic Association and as the Affiliate Director for the New York State Chiropractic Association. Dr. James is committed to advocating for his patients and expanding access to chiropractic care.
Although retired as a dancer, Dr. James still teaches and choreographs in the local dance community where he shares his passion for the stage with the next generation of artists. He also co-hosts “The Dance Up!” podcast with Danielle Lydia Sheather, where they discuss cultural competency and improve communication between the dance and healthcare communities. At home, Dr. James enjoys being a proud fur-father to his dog, Xena, and his two cats, Jasper and Bandit.
